In case you weren’t able to fly out to Beijing, China for Metallica’s show, they debuted a live version of “Confusion” from the band’s latest album Hardwired… to Self-Destruct.

In the video above, the band wastes no time getting into the song, opening with some controlled feedback before Lars Ulrich‘s eight count cues in the rest of the band. The ominous lead set against Ulrich’s marching snare hits paints a picture of doom, which becomes increasingly vivid as James Hetfield‘s war-torn lyrics are delivered.

During their Beijing concert, Metallica also reprises their “One” performance from the 56th Grammy Awards, inviting Chinese concert pianist Lang Lang to join them onstage.
