Mark your calendars for Celebrate Bezanson!  This Canada 150 Celebration includes the 60th Bezanson School Homecoming, Fair & Horseshow!!  This event is brought to you by the Bezanson Community Groups – a partnership of 12 amazing organizations in Bezanson and sponsored by The Community Fund for Canada’s 150th & the Community Foundation of Northwestern Alberta and the County of Grande Prairie No. 1.

Kick off Saturday, August 26 with a Pancake Breakfast at 8: 30-10:30 am at the Memorial Hall.  $5 per person

Bling Your Bike Parade:  9 am.  Details will be posted and in the Fair Book.

Opening Ceremony: 9:30 am

Historical Tours:  Two tours available! Choose one or both!  Two buses load at the Memorial Hall at 9:45 and 1:45.  Join the Tour of the Old Bezanson Townsite & Glen Leslie Church & Cemetery with host Wanda Zenner.  Or join the Tour of the Kleskun Hills Museum with hosts Kleskun Hills Museum Society.  Each tour is 2 1/2 hours and the bus returns to the Bezanson Memorial Hall.

Softball Tournament: 10 am.  Contact Terri at terrihatch@hotmail.com to register your team or to register to be placed on a team.  50% of participants on each team must have attended Bezanson School.

Fair Bench Show:  9 am – 3 pm.   Contact admin@bezansonagsociety.ca or 780-538-3544 for your Fair Book.  Enter your crafts, best baking, photos, veggies & more!   Entries accepted Friday, August 25.  Check the Fair Book for further details!

Farmers Olympics – brought to you by the local 4H Club, join the games!

Facepainting & Concession on Site

The Bouncy Boyz Inflatables:  $5 per person & participate all day!!

BBQ: 5:30-7:30 pm at the Memorial Hall.  $5 per person

Family Dance:  8:30-12:30 pm with Kelly McDermott & NightRyders

Kick off Sunday, August 27 with a choice of Church Services:

  • Glen Leslie Church with George Malcolm at 9 am
  • Bezanson Catholic Church at 9 am
  • Bezanson Community Church at 10:45 am

Brunch at the Memorial Hall at 10 am-noon.  $5 per person.

Horseshow:  9 am start.  Enjoy exhibitors of all ages show their horses & perform!  Contact Margaret at 780-831-6716 to register.

There will be NO Camping on the Bezanson Ag Grounds.  Camping is available at the Old Bezanson Townsite (no water or services) for $15/night or at the Kleskun Hills Park for $25 per night (water & showers).  Call the County of Grande Prairie No. 1 at 780-532-9727 to reserve & pay for your campsite.
