The Grande Prairie Regional Hospital is being delayed until 2019 (2 years) and is said to be $90 million dollars over budget. Health Minister Sarah Hoffman cited tender issues as the reason, tenders have now been re-sent, and if those come under budget work is expected to start again in 2016.

It’s being reported that electrical came in 73 per cent higher than expected, and drywall 233 per cent more. The outside of the building is about 70% complete.

The original budget for the hospital was $647.5 million dollars with an original open date of early 2017.
