He didn’t shave the beard!

David Letterman inducted Pearl Jam  into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last week, and he totally killed his speech. AND his big beard didn’t look any more tamed than it did on TMZ the other day…

In his 15 minute speech, Letterman joked about how Neil Young couldn’t present as it passed his bedtime and how they met on “FarmersOnly.com“, but also talked his appreciation for hearing live music nightly. He also shared a touching story about Eddie Vedder giving his son a guitar with a note that read:

“My name is Eddie Vedder and I’m a friend of your dad’s, I wanted you to have this small guitar to start with. Try it out, make a little noise, I’ll make you a deal. If you learn even one song on this guitar I’ll get you a nicer, bigger one for your birthday. Maybe an electric one. You let me know.”
