If you don’t remember the episode, it featured guest appearances by MLB all-stars like Ozzie Smith, Ken Griffey Jr., Wade Boggs, Don Mattingly, Steve Sax, Darryl Strawberry and Jose Canseco. Boggs and Smith were both on hand for the induction.

In the episode, the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant is up against the Shelbyville Nuclear Power Plant, so Mr. Burns hires a ton of major leaguers to get them the champion title. But when the major leaguers are hit by some… Odd fates, Homer pinch-hits for Darryl Strawberry in the bottom of the ninth inning with two outs and the bases loaded.

Steve Sax told the Associated Press,

“I get asked as much about being on The Simpsons as I do about baseball. They don’t want to know how it was to hit against Nolan Ryan. They want to know about being on that show.”

You go, Homie!
