The first trailer for the new Spike Jonze directed Beastie Boys documentary is here.

Beastie Boys Story promises to take an in-depth look at the groups rise to fame. The “live” documentary outlines the career and 40-year friendship of surviving members, Adam Horovitz (aka Ad Rock) and Mike Diamond (aka Mike D). Additionally, the doc will pay tribute to late member, Adam Yauch (aka MCA), who lost his battle with throat cancer in 2012.

Longtime friend, collaborator and “former hall monitor,” Spike Jonze will direct the film. The Academy Award winning directors relationship with the group dates back to the 90’s when he directed video’s for Beastie hits, “Sure Shot” and “Sabotage.”

Beastie Boys Story hits Imax theaters, April 2 and will be available for streaming on Apple TV Plus, April 24.
