Bob Rock has made a career bringing out the very best in bands and artists and his resume backs that up. He’s produced Metallica’s Black Album, Get Lucky from Loverboy that included their hit “Working For The Weekend”, The Cult’s Sonic Temple, Motley Crue’s Dr. Feelgood and so many more.

So it’s no wonder Gord Downie sought him out to collaborate with while the band was working on their albums “World Container” and “We Are The Same”, both produced by Bob Rock. Gord wanted to sing on some of the music Bob Rock had been working on and recording.

The result is the posthumous release, titled “Lustre Parfait,” starring Gord Downie’s lyrics and Bob Rock’s instrumentation including organs & horns. You can hear the song now on streaming services and below.

“First and foremost Gord was my friend,” Rock said, “and having the opportunity to work with him on these songs was one of the biggest highlights of my professional life. I am grateful that I got to witness his genius in such close proximity.”
