Steve Perry releases new version of Journey's "It Could Have Been You"

After teasing it last week, Steve Perry has shared his new version of Journey’s “It Could Have Been You”.

Perry recorded the track with The Effect – a band that includes the sons of Phil Collins and Toto guitarist Steve Lukather.

Trevor Lukather says Perry has “been a mentor to me” and jumped at the chance to sing on the recording.

Perry says he always considered the song to be a “diamond in the rough” in the Journey catalogue.
